Welcoming Indian & International Seafarers
Across Major & Minor Ports of India
Global Seafarers Centres are established by the Port Welfare Committees with the support of the Merchant Navy Welfare Board (India), in accordance with the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006, Regulation 4.4 of the International Labour Organization (ILO), and as directed by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.
The primary objective of these centres is to promote high-quality welfare services for seafarers at ports visited by both Indian and foreign vessels. These centres serve as dedicated welfare hubs, ensuring that seafarers receive essential support, comfort, and care during their stay in port.
All welfare initiatives are further strengthened through the support of the Global Seafarers Welfare Organisation (USA) and various international maritime welfare bodies, reflecting a unified global commitment to the dignity and well-being of seafarers.
